a quick hello from the scene of my morning breakfast. i discovered pb&j's about 20 years too late and i cannot get enough of them.

my sugar bowl there is from Heath Ceramics, a small ceramic manufacturer, based in Sausolito, California. i was so picky about this tidbit. i could not find one that i liked at the various places i did my wedding registry, so i splurged a bit here. i need a sugar bowl with a cover, is that too much to ask? there is a matching creamer, and i adore it.

Why hello there!

The last time we hung out was around a year ago and so much has happened! I am 95 days away from marrying my sweet bear of a fiance! The dress was picked, the scene has been set and I'm left to tie up all the loose strings! There are many, but I know I can do it!

I am very proud to say that I have fulfilled a mini dream of mine, which is to design my own wedding invitations. It was not at all easy, and I was all over the place about it every step of the way, but in the end, I did it! I think I really nailed the style of my wedding with it, so my guests can know what to expect. As much as I love the idea of a light and airy wedding or a really nice DIY daytime farm wedding, our wedding will be neither. It is going to be full of tradition, all about family and friends (the more the merrier), an all-day affair ending with dancing and food and drink and chandeliers. I wanted to share them in their flat Illustrator file state. They will go through a wonderful transformation at the hand of a lovely print shop on the south shore of Long Island. They will be letterpressed on the most amazing cotton paper with gold foil edge painting and the swirl on the reception card will be printed in gold foil. They are just so extravagant, I love it!

I just purchased yet another headpiece for the big day. I had already bought a gorgeous one from the ladies over at ban.do but today I fell victim to the literally 1,000 e-mails I get every day from retailers. 100 Layer Cake has started doing pop-up shops which are mostly wedding related. I loved the first one I got at ban.do, but I wasn't sure it had the right amount of oomph. I'm an oomph kind of gal. I love the opposite of subtlety. And, I love feathers. I really want some contrast and excitement up in my hair and these beautiful pieces just fit the bill. Tell me your thoughts.

What better way to wake up from my deep blog slumber than to dedicate a post to its biggest fan: the love of my life.
The love of my life (that's his ACTUAL NAME) is the nicest man on earth and completely delectable.

Our wedding is exactly 450 days away. I have set very stringent goals for myself. I'd like to have everything settled by next May. Booked and squared away. I want to enjoy my summer. I want to have the time to get the perfect sun kissed tan. I also want to allow for time to work on any DIY projects that I may think of. I have already started one in secret and when it is completed and ready to unveil, I will let you have a peek. 

Anyway, back to the love of my life! I've been scouring the universe trying to find him the perfect boutonniere. This is one of the few remaining details of the wedding that we will be able to decide on together. I'd love for his boutonniere to match with my bouquet somehow. I like what he likes, so I want his input. This little collage here is mostly for him, but feel free to ooh and aah.

I'm tired of sweaters and my toes miss the fresh air. Still, my backyard looks so pretty all dressed up in white.

the big snow is coming in. i am not looking forward to it, but i won't deny how beautiful it will look.
